The Irrigation Systems in the Sumerian city-states in Mesopotamia
Irrigation systems, our problem and our solution.
|
Some Sumerian city-states had a problem with their irrigation systems at one point. We used canals and irrigation systems called Levees. A Levee is an artificially constructed wall that keeps water in it and prevents the water from flooding. Also, it has pipes in it so they can use the water for plants or gather the water in wells for other uses. The pipes in their irrigation systems were covered in silt, which is very fine mud, and that wasn't good for their plants and water that they drank and it wasn't good to use for their other uses. They had a real big problem with their irrigation systems.
Here is where we solved the problem with our irrigation systems. We try to work together with other villages. They need help with fixing their irrigation systems, so they try to get as much help as they can. They try to work together with the other villages so their irrigation systems would work. They all work together and try to fix their irrigation systems. Therefore, our Sumerian city-states work to innovate every single day. So come visit us, we're ahead of our time.
